Fall is with us, the weather is getting colder, the skies are showering us with rain and we just can't wait to get our hands on some books accompanied with some hot chocolate and a warm, thick blanket. 1. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen, 1813 Austen's novels are a classic cheese-fest but what better than some fondue to accompany you during the colder seasons?

2.A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens, 1843 This one will spark your hype for Christmas ahead of time and teach some of us a lesson or two in the meantime.

3.The Scarlet Letter - Nathaniel Hawthorne, 1850 If you've watched Emma Stone's Easy A, this name must sound familiar to you. Although it doesn't hold the most innocent of concepts, this novel is bound to spark enough controversy to keep you entertained all season long.

4.Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (a.k.a Lewis Carroll), 1865 After the huge successof Johnny Depp's Alice in Wonderland has received, the book is worth re-reading just to compare and contrast the two representations.

1900s

5. The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald, 1925 Behind every great movie is a superfluous novel. The Great Gatsby is no exception to the rule.

6.The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, 1943 Although this book is light-hearted in nature it contains some life lessons each and everyone one of us need a reminder of from time to time.


7.Animal Farm - George Orwell, 1945 Orwell's Animal Farm is the must-read satirical novel for this coming Fall. The truths it holds might shock you but it will be the ideal companion for the boring, rainy days.

 
8.1984 - George Orwell, 1949 Another must read from Orwell. This one might shock you quite a bit when you keep in mind when it was written. 67 years ago, Orwell managed to predict some occasions to a T.

9.Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger, 1951 If you're an adult who's Peter Pan at heart and fears growing old, make sure to read Catcher in the Rye.

10.The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien, 1954 This title is no novelty but definitely a staple. What better than embarking on an adventure with Frodo this fall?


11.Catch-22 - Joseph Heller, 1961 Catch 22 is no light read but definitely a must! Set in World War II, Heller is bound to transport you through the story he has to tell.


12.To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee, 1962 This title is a school staple, but if you haven't read it yet, the time has definitely come. Lee shows us how; the justice system can fail the innocents and minorities are made to feel smaller, is there any redemption in the end? That's up to you to find out.


13.Interview with the Vampire - Anne Rice, 1976 Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise swept us off the floor in the movie version and we're sure Rice will have the same effect on you through her words.


14.Les Misérables - Victor Hugo 1987 Do you hear the people sing? Read the story of angry men this fall and follow their revolution towards freedom and democracy.

15. The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett 1998 The Secret Garden is a classic we all have grown to know and love. Sometime re-reading a book from a different perspective can uncover new secrets.

 

16. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - J. K. Rowling 2001 Harry Potter fans it's time to unite over some butterbeer! With the new movie coming out in December, we're just in time to read the fantastical novel behind the whole plot.

17. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins 2008 A little bit of adventure is a must when trying to get past the boring fall days. Follow Katniss as she fights the Capitol and brings justice to Panem's people!


18. Assassin's creed series - Oliver Bowden 2009-2015 Here's a fun fact for you - did you know that several shots in the up and coming Assassin's Creed movie were filmed in Malta? Also, did you know that the movie is based on the Assassin's Creed video games and the novels written by Bowden? Better catch up with them before the movie is released.


19. Inferno - Dan Brown 2013 Finally, after the long awaited, we get to enjoy the fruits of our patience. Inferno comes out later this month and what better way to prepare than to read the book?


20. After You - Jojo Moyes 2015 As we wait and hope Me Before You gets a sequel in theatres soon enough, we might as well sit at home and ball our eyes out while reading the sequel of the novel first novel; After You.
