Fattima Mahdi has been taking the island by storm with her musical prowess and incredible talent – something which one can clearly hear and feel when listening to her explosive new track 'Mama'. 

Raw, emotional fierceness is the first thing that hits when hearing the song, a sincere and powerful ode to Fattima's ancestry.

The heartfelt song is a touching tribute to the singer's Nigerian and Somali heritage. 'Mama' truly amplifies the singer's pride in her roots in an illustrious manner, and quite frankly, we love it.  

'Mama' is only a taster of the artists' upcoming and much-anticipated EP 'Home' an eclectic fusion of electronica and afro music which features a number of acclaimed African artists.  

The Malta-based artist states that "there are no limitations, only challenges." a message that resonates well with the theme of this incredibly catchy song.

 

 

The talented artist has been residing in Malta since 2016, and with a Malta Cypher Freestyle Award and over 50 performances internationally, the artist gained recognition in an instant. Fattima does not only dabble in music however, the multi-talented artist is also a professional roller-skater, model and author. 

The song was composed and conceptualised by local producers Rikki Lee Scicluna and Claude Spiteri Belcher from Gilkicker Studios.
