Astonishing beach

Malta is blessed with ethereal coastlines, breath-taking bays and astonishing beaches. From Slugs Bay to Wied iz-Zurrieq, the island is a true heaven for anyone who enjoys swimming, diving and snorkelling. Here are six enchanting swimming spots in Malta you definitely need to visit.

1. St Peter's Pool

This natural pool is one of the most stunning bays you can find in Malta. St Peter's Pool is situated at the tip of Delimara and boasts easy access to the sea, pretty diving spots and awe-inspiring colours.

2. Wied Iz-Zurrieq

This lovely bay is speckled with wondrous views and beautiful waters. Wied iz-Zurrieq is a popular spot for diving, snorkelling and swimming — along with boat rides to Blue Grotto.

3. Slugs Bay

One of our all-time favourites, this breathtaking bay is a difficult-to-reach one, which only means one thing — fewer people. If you are looking for a bay that's in pristine conditions and abundant in subliminal scenery, Slugs Bay is the ideal place for you.

4. Mgiebah Bay

This unspoiled beauty is another difficult-to-get-to bay that needs some walking to get to. However, heat aside, this walk is truly worthwhile. Imgiebah bay is one of the few spots that can be called untarnished.

5. Ghajn Tuffieha

While this bay is a bit of a hassle to get to, it's one of Malta's most popular beaches. This blue-flagged beach is popular for the amazing sunset panoramic views one can enjoy at dusk.

6. Qarraba Bay

Definitely the most inaccessible bay on this list, Qarraba Bay is one of the most tranquil spots in the Mgarr area. Getting to it means that you'll need to hike through rocky terrain and slide down clay slopes. Or you could just catch a boat from Gnejna bay.
