The Autism Parents Association is a non government organisation which works towards helping families with children affected by autism. We mainly work towards offering support, help and information to parents. The Autism Parents Association is designed to help both the children and parents in an effective manner which will eventually lead to a fruitful and fulfilling adulthood.

Our non profit organisation was set up by parents of children who were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and we currently have about 94 members in the association. The aim of Autism Parents Association is that of raising awareness in Maltese society due to the fact that autism is not a visible condition, and the number of children who are being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders are on the increase each year. We, as parents of autistic children ourselves, know that other parents who are new to this diagnosis oftentimes go through a range Read Moreof difficulties and adversities both when it comes to getting the diagnosis and when they need to identify their children’s needs. As a local organisation, we want to create a range of opportunities for other parents so that they can become more educated and identify better opportunities when it comes to educating their children and helping in their development.
