Business Overview
Founded in 1990, Scubatech Diving Centre is a friendly family-run school on the waterfront at St Paul's Bay. Each season we welcome visitors from around the world and introduce them to the clear blue Mediterranean that surrounds Malta. Our instructors were raised diving these waters and use that deep local knowledge to plan safe and memorable experiences for every guest, from first-time snorkelers to technical explorers.
Training follows a structured Diving Course From Beginners To Professional. Absolute newcomers start in calm pool-like conditions and master essentials such as mask clearing, buoyancy control and buddy checks. When ready they move to sheltered bays where colourful wrasse and bream weave through ancient limestone ledges.
Certified divers can progress through Nitrox, Deep, Wreck and Rescue specialties. Those who dream of working in the industry can continue to Divemaster and Instructor programmes that include workshops on cylinder filling, equipment maintenance and customer care, giving graduates the Read Morereal-world skills employers expect.
Malta is famous for dramatic drop-offs, swim-throughs and historic warships that now serve as artificial reefs. To showcase these sites we run a varied weekly schedule. Most weekdays we guide two relaxed shore dives to favourites such as Cirkewwa Arch, the P 29 patrol boat and the Um El Faroud tanker. On Sundays we launch our signature Boat Dive.
A purpose-built hardboat carries a maximum of twelve guests and reaches remote reefs around Gozo and Comino in under thirty minutes, giving you longer dives and fewer crowds. Every outing is timed to catch the best visibility and current direction so you enjoy rich marine life and effortless drift routes.
Planning a club holiday or travelling with friends? Ask about a private Dive Trip. Tell us the certification levels in your group and the scenery you prefer and our team will build a custom itinerary that suits everyone. We can arrange hotel pick-up, airport transfers and secure gear storage, making logistics effortless for visitors.
Non-divers are welcome to join the boat to snorkel or simply relax on deck while you explore below. Macro photographers can request early morning starts that capture soft light and calm seas, while technical groups can add twin-set or sidemount support.
Safety is the foundation of every service we provide. Cylinders receive annual visual inspections and five-year hydrostatic tests. Regulators are serviced to manufacturer standards.
Emergency oxygen, first-aid kits and surface radios accompany all dives, and every staff member maintains current first-responder and oxygen-provider credentials. The nearest hyperbaric chamber is a short drive away in Gzira, giving added peace of mind.
Back at the centre you can rinse equipment in freshwater, upload photos using free Wi-Fi and relax in the shaded courtyard with a chilled Kinnie. Our shop carries trusted brands such as Apeks, Mares and Shearwater, and in-house technicians handle repairs and upgrades between dives. Charging stations and secure lockers keep valuables safe during surface intervals, while hot showers and changing rooms mean you head out refreshed for the evening.
Whether you want to hover weightlessly over rainbow-coloured reefs, venture inside a haunting wreck or earn a professional rating, Scubatech Malta provides the expertise, care and warm hospitality that turn a holiday into an adventure. Call or email to check availability and start planning your perfect Mediterranean dive escape today.
