1. Dingli Cliffs

Dingli Cliffs are widely considered one of the most iconic sunset locations in Malta. Located along the island's western coastline near the village of Dingli, these limestone cliffs rise more than 250 metres above sea level, making them the highest point on the island.

From the edge of the cliffs, visitors can enjoy uninterrupted views across the Mediterranean, with the small uninhabited island of Filfla, which sits several kilometres offshore. Golden Bay is one of Malta's most popular beaches, and it is also one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset. Situated on the north-western coast, the bay faces directly towards the open sea, offering a perfect view as the sun disappears beyond the horizon.

The surrounding cliffs provide elevated viewpoints overlooking the golden sandy beach below. As evening approaches, the sky reflects warm colours across the water while the cliffs and surrounding landscape are bathed in golden light.

Located on Malta's south-western coast near Siġġiewi, Għar Lapsi is a small rocky inlet known for its crystal-clear waters and dramatic coastal scenery. Although it is popular among divers and snorkelling enthusiasts during the day, the area becomes particularly peaceful in the evening. The natural rock formations surrounding the inlet create a stunning frame for the sunset, while the calm waters reflect the changing colours of the sky. From the shoreline, visitors can also see the island of Filfla on the horizon, adding to the spectacular view.

The village of Nadur sits on one of the highest hills in Gozo and offers some of the most panoramic views across the island. Several viewpoints around the village look westward, making them ideal for sunset watching. From here, visitors can see sweeping views of Gozo's countryside as well as the neighbouring islands of Comino and Malta in the distance. As the sun sets, the sky lights up across the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape below.
