In order to make sure that all local councils around Malta and Gozo are working towards the improvement in their respective localities, in 1994 the Local Councils' Association was founded. Our aim is to represent all 68 local councils around Malta and Gozo. We are also there to make sure that we protect and promote the overall interest of all the local councils on all levels.

There are many things that we take care of as an association, we take care of any outdoor markets and make sure they are up to par. We also make sure that whether it is after an activity or not, the waste collection is at its best. Waste can bring on further trouble and so we make sure that it is always collected on time and we organise ourselves when we know there will be an event and the streets will be littered Read Morewith waste.

We also work towards making sure the local rules are being upheld, making sure that everything is running smoothly as only this can equal good living quarters for our citizens. We also see to it that the local council provides their fair share when it comes to maintaining our streets. Our work is on going and even though in the years that we have been in business we have done a lot, we still strive to provide our citizens with the best service possible.

We are being proactive towards making sure the needs of our local councils are being met. Like modernisation of offices so that people will be more inclined to provide better work and citizens will feel more comfortable visiting the offices. We are looking into adding to our human resources and many other things that we are continuously working towards, in order to make our councils the best that they can be.
