Treatment
Laser hair removal is a procedure performed with an optical device, which uses light beams to destroy hair located in various areas on the human body. Laser targets melanin in the hair, which is why the procedure is the most effective with the combination of dark hair and pale skin, thanks to the contrast it creates. During the procedure, you will experience uncomfort as it’s usually more painful than waxing. There are special anaesthetic creams which can be applied to numb the area. However, the cream can be applied only in small quantities and on small areas, such as upper lip or bikini area.

All the areas with possible extensive hair growth, such as face - upper lip and chin, neck, chest, belly, back and shoulders, arms, hands, pubic area and legs. Depending on the chosen part, price and time of the treatment will vary. Some beauty salons may offer packages for a specific number of treatments for one area, or regardless the body part.
Effectiveness
Treatment needs to be repeated, with usually six to eight appointments in total, because of new hair growing. Even though some say it’s a permanent solution for hair removal, over the years new hair may grow in a treated area. If there are any medical reasons for extensive hair grow, such as hormonal problems, insulin resistance or glandular imbalances, treatment might not be effective. Check beforehand with a doctor and ensure the procedure can be effective and will be safe.
Side Effects
After the procedure, skin may be irritated, swollen and itchy. Some people experience numbness, for others treated area is painful, regardless, all side effects should stop after three days. If not, consult with your technician or doctor because most likely settings of the laser were wrongly adjusted.
