L'Agape is the place where customers can enjoy a limited menu of fresh local produce with items changing frequently according to the season. We aim to provide a small menu to ensure lots of fresh and healthy ingredients.

Most of our inspiration comes from our visits to Italy, where we regularly encounter the osteria concept. We also believe in the Italian kilometre zero practice of offering products fresh from where you are operating. For example, if you go to Alba in Italy, you will generally dine on meat, vegetables, olives and wine from around the town. We adopted the same concept at L'Agape. Our butcher, greengrocer and 24-hour baker are all practically Read Morenext door. The only exception is that we import a great Italian wine called Fattoria San Giuliano di Piemonte at a favourable price, which we highly recommend.

At L'Agape we boast professional chefs whose culinary mastery adds soul to even the simplest of their recipes without using extra sauces, butter, or creams - the taste comes purely from the product itself. With us, healthy eating is not about having tiny portions or eating unappetising food. We consider food an art form which we want our clients to fully enjoy, without overdoing it of course.

What goes particularly well with our clients is the traditional Maltese fenkata, stuffed pork belly banquet, slow-cooked meat, fresh calamari with tuna and pistachios, Maltese hobza, and more mouth-watering food which our chefs cook to perfection.

L'Agape is open for dinner from Monday to Saturday. A private room can be reserved for groups of ten or more, ideal for business dinners, graduation celebrations, birthday bashes - you name it! We also do outside catering for events thanks to our superb catering team. With us, you can opt for outdoor stand-up parties or else large sit-down meals, even al fresco.

Stay tuned for regular events namely our Maltese Nights having traditional Maltese food as well as our acoustic nights on Fridays whereby you will be able to book a table and enjoy our platters, grigliata, or pizza in pala, or else enjoy some drinks at the bar while appreciating great music by renowned bands.

The location of the place, Rabat, was an inspiration to the name L'Agape where a number of Agape tables are found in the catacombs close by. The place is also used as an art gallery managed by Gallery Pi and in the current collection, one can admire works by Sergio Muscat, Carlo Muscat, Gordon Pace Flores and Rupert Cefai.
