The place, which used to be the cellar of the Prince of Wales' own band club, was once a centuries-old palace. It can now be appreciated as a typical Maltese dwelling with Maltese character both in the ambience and the food offered, complemented with a contemporary and international flair. Having been restored and updated with minimal decor, we have managed to retain the historical touch of the place while giving it a fresh look.

Our wine list details every particular characteristic of each wine, categorised according to the taste and grape Read Morevariety, country of origin, and price. This way, our customers would have an idea of the taste that their chosen would have. Additionally, patrons should look for wine-tasting sessions which are held regularly at the bar.

The originating concept of Del Borgo was to move away from the internationalisation of ingredients and go back to our roots with recipes, "like mama used to make". The food menu is kept simple but interesting. From ravioli with gbejniet-filling and fresh tomato sauce to Maltese platters, battered cod fritters and hobza Maltija mimlija, our menus place a strong emphasis on local produce. The idea is to revive Malta's food heritage and present it with a modern touch.

Del Borgo is situated in the historical city Birgu - Citta Vittoriosa and is open everyday (including Sunday) from 6.00pm until morning. The kitchen is open throughout.
