Our baby & toddler swimming classes are held with child and parent / carer together and the emphasis is on safety and on learning through play. We teach children between the ages of 2 months and 4 years. Many wonder at starting so young, but remember, at this age, living in a water environment, as in the mother's womb, is familiar and comforting experience. At 2 to 3 months, a baby's interaction within a group is naturally much less than with an older baby but there are also many benefits to be gained. 


With the younger babies we therefore work more on water awareness and confidence and also on quality time for attachment and bonding with the accompanying adult. Our babies classes take children from 2 to 12 months while the toddler classes run from 13 months to 4 years  Aquababies techniques encourage the early development of a baby's natural swimming Read Moreskills, enhancing their general health, awareness, eating and sleeping patterns and also strengthening their cardio-respiratory functions. Our teaching methods are based on gentle yet persuasive exercises that are related to the individual child's stage of physical and social development and also their readiness. Aquababies teachers are all STA certified swimming teachers. They also hold STA Pool Safety and lifesaving qualifications.
