Picnic area

Spring is finally here. Longer and warmer days allow us to get out of the house and enjoy some outdoor quality time with our loved ones. The beauty of Malta is that there are many sites to see, many places where to enjoy a walk or have a picnic with family and friends.
Here's a list of places on the island where you can organise a picnic.

Ta' Qali National Park

The Ta' Qali National Park is known for its picnics on the green grass, as it's the perfect place for a relaxing outdoor afternoon. Everyone is welcome to enjoy some fresh air away from the hectic lifestyle. Dogs are welcome too, as long as they are kept on a leash, but should you wish to let your four-legged friend run free you can go to the dog park which is right next door.

Buskett Gardens

Buskett Gardens is one of the few woodland areas on the
island, and is located close to Dingli. Here you can find one of the greenest areas in Malta, where you can enjoy a long walk in the gardens, or a fun picnic under one of the many trees. All you need is food, wine, music and good company to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun.

Gozo

Gozo is always a good idea. Plan a day trip to Malta's sister island and be a tourist for the day, visit as many places as you wish, and enjoy some homemade sandwiches in one of the beautiful sites. All you really need is a car, a
map, some good company and goodies to snack on.

The Beach

The last but not least option for a picnic in Malta and Gozo would be the beach. Where else would you rather be on a beautiful sunny day? You can choose between sandy and rocky
beaches, and just drive to the one closest to you. Play a game of volleyball, have a sandcastle competition, and for the courageous ones, a dip in the sea!
